International Event to Tee Off at October 23 – 25, 2008 in Prescott.
PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – Talking Rock in Prescott Arizona is set to host the 2008 edition of the OB Sports Invitational Cup Matches. The OB Sports Invitational Cup Matches are the gathering for all of OB Sports Golf Management’s private facilities and additional clubs by special invitation. The event creates an opportunity for the members of OB Sports-managed facilities to enjoy the other facilities in the OB network and to interact socially with other club members in a fun, yet competitive golf environment.
Participating clubs in the 2008 OB Invitational Cup Matches include: the home team from Talking Rock – Prescott, Arizona; Dalhousie Golf Club – Cape Girardeau, Missouri (2007 Host Venue); Somerby Golf Club – Rochester, MN (2005 Host Venue); Portmarnock – Ireland; Angel Park Golf Club – Las Vegas, NV; High Meadow Ranch – Magnolia, TX; Longbow Golf Club – Mesa, AZ and Horseshoe Bend Country Club – Roswell, GA
The format for the event is a “Match Around” where all players will compete in 45 holes of two-person, net best-ball matches in two flights. A cumulative point total scored by each team will determine the flight winner and a grand finale ‘horse race’ between flight winners will produce the team champion. Last year the “home team” from Dalhousie Golf Club captured “the OB Cup” at the matches held on their home course in Cape Girardeau. The international contingent from Royal Portmarnock, Ireland captured “The Cup” in 2007.
