No. 8 In The Country For Public Facilities And No. 1 In Florida
Winter Garden, Fla., October 21, 2008 – Golf World has just debuted its inaugural “Readers’ Choice Awards” of the top 50 best public facilities in the country and Orange County National was ranked No. 8. Orange County National was the only public facility in Florida named in the top 10.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by one of the top consumer golf publications in their inaugural rankings,” said Bruce Gerlander, general manager, Orange County National. “An honor of this magnitude validates our efforts that we work so hard to accomplish every day. We take great pride in the fact these rankings were based on evaluations of guests who put up their hard earned money to play our courses as opposed to a panel of industry experts. We will work hard over the next year to improve our score in each category and continue to strive to offer an exceptional golf experience for each and every one of our guests.”
The “Readers’ Choice Awards” were based on the evaluation of courses in 10 categories ranging from quality and condition of the course and practice facility to amenities and service. More than 21,000 course evaluations were sent in from golfers around the country. Orange County National’s overall ranking was 86.60 out of a possible 100 points. This score landed Orange County National at a lofty No. 8 on the top 50 public course list. The three categories Orange County National scored the highest were quality of the courses, practice facility and golf shop.
