ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL-(October 21, 2008)- Three GolfOrlando courses were named “Top 50 Public Courses” by Golf World’s 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards: Orange County National (#8), Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club (#17) and Celebration Golf Club (#24).
In addition, a number of other Orlando area golf facilities were listed on the “State by State Recognition” list by having an overall score of 75.0 or higher: Bay Hill Club & Lodge, ChampionsGate Golf Resort, Falcon’s Fire Golf Club, Grand Cypress Golf Club and Mystic Dunes Golf Club.

This is the debut year for Golf World’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Golf World spent nearly six months gathering data on golf establishments throughout the country, evaluating them across multiple criteria to identify the nation’s premier facilities. Golf World received more than 21,000 individual golf course ratings and more than 252,000 criteria evaluations.
“Unlike other rankings, which are produced by panelists and editors and course designers and other experts of one ilk or another, this list belongs to the readers of Golf World,” said Golf World Editor-In-Chief Geoff Russell.
