(October 8th, 2008 – Coral Springs, FL) – Caddy For A Cure, Inc., the program that offers golf fans a chance to caddy for PGA TOUR players, is offering an opportunity of a lifetime at the 2009 Masters tournament – the opportunity to caddy “inside the ropes” at Augusta National Golf Club for Open Champion and PGA TOUR Champion Todd Hamilton.
Caddy For A Cure will offer this special day, and all of its PGA TOUR player caddy opportunities, through online auction services from its website (www.caddyforacure.com). 100% of all auction proceeds are donated to charity, including the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, which is the inspiration behind the Caddy For A Cure program.
In addition to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, multiple qualified charities will benefit from the caddy program at the Masters, including the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org). This program raises awareness and enlists the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, and provides unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
Says Russ Holden, Caddy For A Cure program founder and CEO, “We have been blessed to have had some pretty incredible experiences with the best players in the world at some pretty spectacular places. Players like Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Padraig Harrington and Jim Furyk participating at places like Congressional Country Club, TPC Sawgrass, Pinehurst – but this one will be the ultimate in golf fantasies. It truly epitomizes the heart of these great PGA TOUR players and especially the heart of Todd Hamilton, who suggested we let someone caddy for him on Monday of the Masters. Having caddied many years at the Masters myself, I can testify that anyone will get chills when they see “Amen Corner” and walk up to that famous 12th tee box. Imagine being on the first tee, dressed in a white overall and green Masters hat, being on the same hallowed grounds as Nicklaus, Hogan, Snead, Nelson, Jones, and so many other legends of the game who have walked during this special week in April. This is the big course, in full spring bloom, during the Masters. Someone is in for the golf experience of a lifetime that day.”
Included in the caddy opportunity will be the ticket for the day, along with Todd’s Taylor Made bag that is custom made specifically for the Masters as a memento of the experience.
