ORLANDO, Fla. – Matt Harmon shot a -4 under 68 Monday to win the “Hot Dog Open” by one stroke edging out Patrick Damron and Philippe Gasnier in the third event of the LoudMouth Golf Tour at Orange Tree Golf Club.
The LMG Tour features 10 regular season events of 18-holes that concludes with a two-day Tour Championship in March and features a winner’s check of $10,000. With LoudMouth as the title sponsor, every event is named after a pair of LoudMouth pants — hence The Hot Dog Open.
Being able to have fun while competing on the LMG Tour is just one of the added benefits of this mini tour that continually attracts players from the PGA and Nationwide Tours. Another is the quality and playability of the course.
“Some of the Tour players have commented that we have ‘Tour quality’ greens and a difficult driving course,” said LMG Tour Founder and Commissioner Dave Damesworth. “If you can shoot under par at Orange Tree you can do it almost anywhere! Plus the opportunity for Future Tour players here is better than any other offer in Central Florida!”
Damesworth said the Wisne Family at Orange Tree has always been and continues to be committed to developing players striving to make it to the PGA Tour. That is why they offer the Future Tour Membership, a special arrangement for each of those players and that is why they were so receptive to host the LoudMouth Golf Tour.
“Orange Tree Golf Club is a great training ground for the PGA, LPGA, Nationwide and mini tours like the LoudMouth Tour,” said Damesworth. “Their Future Tour Membership is an affordable way for individuals between the ages of 16 and 32 to join the club and fine-tune their game.”
According to Damesworth, players like Robert Gamez, Jeong Jang (women’s British Open Champion), Meena Lee, Angela Park and Hae See Son all have taken advantage of the Future Tour program. Orange Tree also supports Junior members, as they are the future of the club and possibly the Tours.
LoudMouth features a line of 20 colorfully designed pants and shorts in varying degrees of loudness topped off with the infamous signature style Disco Balls. With such high-volume colors in their pants, LoudMouth offers a line of eight solid color shirts that match pants perfectly.
“We’ll do everything we can to help grow the participation in the tour,” said Loudmouth Golf CEO Larry Jackson. “While our expressed goal is to put fun back in the game, it is also our goal to help grow the game in every way possible and we believe our sponsorship of this tour is a giant step in that direction.”
The next LMG Tour event at Orange Tree is Nov. 24. For more information about the Loudmouth Golf Tour and to reserve a place in the field, please call Damesworth at 407-436-2348, or inquire at lmgtour@loudmouthgolf.com. To check out the latest in LoudMouth fashion visit www.loudmouthgolf.com.
