CUPERTINO, CA (October 27, 2008) – Never-Search, Inc. publishers of the most comprehensive array of golf course information ever organized for display on a map has announced that its quarterly update is now available for the Business Edition of its patented Never-Search for Golf™ travel and trip planning software.
“While we already know we have the most complete and most accurate golf course locations of any map, we continue to make it better,” said Keith Kreft, President, Never-Search, Inc. “Sales personnel enjoy the benefits of this invaluable sales lead tool immediately. With this software, every piece of information about retail shops and golf courses is at their fingertips, allowing them to quickly locate, qualify and contact golf facilities in any area. We are seeing productivity improvements between 20 and 25%, which is pretty substantial.”
Since releasing its 1.03 software version at the PGA and Golf Industry Shows in January of 2008, the Never-Search updates have:
Added 72 new courses
Removed 82 courses
Recorded over 100 golf course name changes
Improved locations of the flags marking almost 200 golf course entrances, 74 of which were moved more than 0.25 mile.
Added 519 golf course website links, bringing the total number of verified/validated golf course website links to 12,715 . . . almost 70% of the courses in the U.S.
And more…
The update adds over 2,000 email addresses to the map. This brings the total golf course emails to 25,000. “Based on marketing research conducted at the Golf Industry Show, we have increased our focus on the needs of our customers calling on the superintendents,” said Kreft. “As a result, 1,200 of the new emails are for golf course superintendents. They are being displayed under their own unique sub-category instead of being mixed in with the other addresses. We will continue to explore ways of categorizing more of our email addresses in future updates.”
Customer collaboration is an important element of the update process. The Never-Search mapping software allows feedback to be sent directly from the map. Some of the location improvements and business contact changes come directly from golf sales reps visiting courses. For example, flags marking the course entrances can be moved by customers using the product. When this occurs, the customer is asked how accurately the flag was moved, and whether he would like to send an email with the new location to Never-Search. All feedback is run through a verification process and appropriate updates are made to the map. With higher gas prices, it is important to know exactly where the courses are located to avoid crisscrossing a city when planning daily itineraries and to eliminate driving around aimlessly searching for an entrance that an Internet map or other navigation system did not map correctly.
In addition to updating the golf data, a number of other enhancements were made. One is a new folder titled Latest 200, which when selected, displays the last 200 courses that were added to the map. This allows existing customers, who have already spent time qualifying courses in an area or territory, to easily identify and review the newer additions separately from courses already examined. Another enhancement is displaying the name of the county in parenthesis as part of the course address. “We had received a number of requests from sales reps and from inside sales territory planning teams to include the county information, said Kreft. “Companies with larger numbers of reps often split up larger states, like California, between the reps, assigning territories to each by county. This refinement complements our recent street map enhancement which added county borders and labeling to the map.”
Never-Search for Golf is a robust, PC-based, software mapping application that includes every street in the U.S. and Canada, and when connected to the Internet, it acts as a virtual website to plan trips, make reservations, and save locations and notes on places you’re planning to visit. You can then view your travel plans, routes and all other points of interest on your laptop while traveling unconnected from the Internet. Add a GPS receiver (G-mouse) and turn your laptop into a navigation system to follow your route with ease. All points of interest locations are mapped with unparalleled accuracy and are easily updated from the Never-Search website. Clicking on any flag on the map opens an information box displaying a profile of the location.
The Never-Search for Golf travel and trip planning software includes all golf courses in the nation with detailed information on each, along with driving ranges, golf stores and 9,000 golf instructors; all accurately mapped. The Business Edition additionally shows the locations of more than 21,000 PGA members working at either a golf course, a driving range or a golf store, while the golf course information includes the business contacts; the name of the Pro, the greens superintendent, the general manager, who owns the course, who manages the course… fax numbers, mailing addresses, email addresses, website links, rounds played, total number of holes, type of course, greens fee range… and more. Businesses are accurately mapped to driveway entrances while the business data is linked to mapped locations. There’s no need to rely on inaccurate or undependable Internet mapping.
Users can download a free trial version of the product or order a trial DVD if they prefer that installation method. The download runs in the background so you can continue to do other work on your personal computer while waiting for it to finish. The program is downloaded in segments, so if it is interrupted, the captured segments are saved. The download can then be restarted at any time from a Never-Search desktop icon and the download will resume where it left off. It’s very clever, and it beats waiting 3 days for a mailed DVD to be delivered.
Once a user has registered and downloaded the latest travel data, the software works with or without an Internet connection. The purchase price includes free updates of all the data for one year. In the event that a user does not purchase the annual subscription, they can keep this valuable mapping software for free. Both the personal and business editions are available from www.Never-Search.com. The Never-Search for Golf Personal Edition subscription price is $19.95. The Business Edition annual subscription price ranges from $99.00 – $495.00.
