Following a sumptuous gala dinner the previous evening in the Bayhill Club and Lodge, the inaugural Kingdom Cup hosted by Arnold Palmer, was played out in blazing sunshine on Bay Hill’s Championship course on Monday October the 27th. Organized by Kingdom Magazine, the magnificent Tiffany&Co designed Kingdom Cup was won for the first ever time by Jimmy D. Wright & Lou Marinaccio. Runners up were Jonathan Cascio & Berry Sethi of Southern Diversified and coming in third were Lou West & Dan O’Connor of the Big Green Egg Company.
The longest drive was won by David Couch of APDC and closest to the pin, to the delight of all those who had sampled his magnificent Connecticut grown product earlier in the day, by Tom Arnold, founder and owner of the CVE Cigar company.
Each guest received a Mullholland hand crafted bag full with gifts from various generous sponsors and prior to tee-ing off every golfer was fitted by Peak vision with the latest sunglasses. Participants also had the chance to practice with and custom test the latest offerings from Callaway; that is if they hadn’t spent too long test driving the fabulous new Maserati Quattroporte executive and the Granturismo which was also on show.
Apart from just having a fantastic time the 100 + selected guests and golfers also raised significant funds for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children through private donation and silent auction.
