November 3, 2008 (Oakbrook Terrace, IL) Ryan Palmer, staff player for Zero Friction Performance Golf Tees, earned a victory at the 2008 Ginn sur Mer Classic on November 2nd.
Palmer managed to play his way through a final round that included weather delays, a six-way tie for the lead, and a self-assessed penalty at the Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, Florida. In dramatic fashion, Palmer pinned a wedge shot to within 10 feet on the 72nd hole of play and made the putt for birdie and the win. His final round score of 71 (-7 for the week) placed Palmer at No. 73 on the money list and earned him a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour.
“We are extremely happy for Ryan to have earned this victory,” said John Iacono, Founder and C.E.O of Excel Golf Products, Inc. “Calling a penalty on yourself says a lot about who you are as a person. Persevering for the win says a lot about who you are as a professional golfer.”
The Zero Friction Performance Golf Tee has a unique three-pronged design that significantly reduces the contact area between the ball and tee at impact. The tees have also accounted for over 30 professional victories and more than 200 top-ten finishes.
For the 2008 season, Ryan Palmer’s driving average is 295.2 yards and ranks 26th on the PGA Tour in total driving.
