Norcross, GA (November 5, 2008) – Mizuno, the leader in golf apparel innovation and technology, announced today that they will be expanding the popular WindLite line of knitted garments that look fantastic, feel good, and also provide 100% windproof protection, a combination that is rarely found in the market today. Continuing over into 2009 will be the WindLite ¼ Zip Sweater and the WindLite Sleeveless v-neck sweater, both featuring a performance gauge cotton/acrylic knit shell and a flexible inner dropliner to provide warmth and windproof protection in an extremely comfortable and lightweight performance garment. Also carrying over into the 2009 line will be the WindLite Pullover. Featuring a microyarn shell with the same windproof technology utilized in the sweaters, the WindLite Pullover offers lightweight windproof protection, water repellency, and breathability.
The success of the WindLite line has allowed Mizuno to expand the use of innovative WindLite technology into the fleece category. Mizuno is introducing a new WindLite Fleece, which combines a lightweight microfleece shell and a flexible inner dropliner, resulting in the ultimate in warmth, comfort, and windproof performance. The WindLite Fleece is perfect for cool or even cold playing conditions, and also looks sharp enough to add to one’s everyday wardrobe.
“The introduction of the new WindLite Fleece is really a breakthrough for the category,” said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager, Mizuno USA Golf Division. “This garment provides all the comfort and warmth of microfleece yarn, but is also 100% windproof, something that other fleeces at virtually the same price point don’t offer.”
