Mesa, AZ – Dixon Golf announced today that The Heritage Golf Course at Westmoor in Colorado has decided to “Get On The Green” and carry their 100% Eco-Friendly Earth golf balls. The Heritage Golf Course has done its part to help the environment for years by becoming certified as an Audubon International Signature Program golf course in 2002. To achieve this they must follow sustainable resource management principles in their day to day operations. “Supporting a sustainable community is a priority for us at the City of Westminster and the Dixon earth golf ball is just another way we can foster a stewardship ethic of environmental values in support this effort,” said Brian J. Carlson, Head Golf Professional.
The Audubon program aims to add and integrate wildlife conservation, habitat restoration and enhancement, water conservation and water quality protection and other areas of environmental protection and improvement with the other objectives for new developments. “This is a perfect fit for the Dixon Earth golf ball. Dixon is proud to partner with The Heritage and continue in their efforts to help the environment. Whether its wildlife conservation or an eco-friendly golf ball, we can all do our part in some way, “said Dane Platt, President of Dixon Golf.
About The Heritage Golf Course as Westmoor
Opened in September 1999, this Hurdzan-Fry design (Hurdzan was named Golf Course Architect of the Year in 1997 by Golf World Magazine), is a Colorado-style Scottish links layout targets players of all levels with five tee boxes on every hole, wide fairways, generous landing areas and greens that average more than 6,000 square feet. The Heritage also takes full advantage of the sweeping mountain views, while the wetlands, prairie grasses and gently rolling topography making for both a rare and unique round of golf.
Dixon Earth – Good For The Environment…Better For Your Game!
Unlike other Golf Ball Brands who use harsh heavy-metal pollutants like tungsten, cobalt and lead, and contain non-renewable synthetic materials and compounds; the Dixon Earth golf ball is “green” to the core. The Earth core is made from a proprietary polymer that maintains the playable properties of the ball, but ensures that it is 100% renewable. Even the packaging is made from 100% recycled material. From core to cover, from packaging to production, Dixon Earth is setting a new standard in environmental consciousness.
Amazingly; Dixon didn’t have to sacrifice playability to become environmentally friendly. Just the opposite, the Dixon Earth golf ball actually out-performed several three piece urethane cover balls in competitive testing!
