Rely on Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Balls in Dramatic Victories

Fairhaven, MA (November 17, 2008) – Angela Stanford relied upon her Titleist Pro V1 golf ball en route to a final round bogey-free 3-under 69 to capture the LPGA Tour’s inaugural Lorena Ochoa Invitational by one shot over two players, including Pro V1x loyalist Brittany Lang. It was the second win in five starts for Stanford, who finished at 13-under 275. It marked the third win of her career. Lang vaulted to the runner-up position following a final round course record-setting 7-under 65 at the Guadalajara Country Club layout in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The win was the 16th for Titleist players on the 2008 LPGA Tour, more than any other competitor. Titleist was the most played golf ball at the limited-field event with 25 players, compared to 8 for the nearest competitor.

ASIAN: India’s Jeev Milkha Singh held off the combined challenges of two major champions, including fellow Pro V1x loyalist Padraig Harrington for a one-shot victory at the Barclays Singapore Open, Asia’s richest national Open. Singh, who posted a final round 2-under 69 and finished at 7-under 277, virtually sealed his second Asian Tour Order of Merit title in three years with the victory. He also made history by becoming the first player to surpass $1 million in earnings in a single season on the Asian Tour. Starting the final round five strokes back, Singh charged up the leaderboard with an outward 33.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy (Pro V1x, 909D2 driver, ZM irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron Studio Select putter) and recent Macau Open winner, David Gleeson (Pro V1), finished strong to tie for fourth place, another shot back.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at The Barclays Singapore Open with 103 players (69%), compared to 15 for the nearest competitor. The winner also relied upon a Scotty Cameron putter for his success.

AUSTRALASIAN: Aaron Townsend ran away with the NSW Open by seven shots, while fellow Pro V1x loyalist and Titleist Brand Ambassador Michael Long secured the 2008 Von Nida Tour Money title. Townsend and Long accepted their trophies at the Von Nida Tour’s season-ending event. The 27-year old Townsend was the local favorite, earning his first Von Nida Tour victory following a final round 3-under 68. He finished with a 17-under 267 total. Townsend, who will participate in the second round of the U.S. PGA TOUR Q-School this week, had previously posted three runner-up finishes this year. Long edged Townsend for the money crown by a slim $760 margin.

Nine of the 12 players who finished among the top 10 and ties trusted Titleist golf balls for their success, including Pro V1x players Steve Jones and Tim Wood, who finished second and third, respectively. With 129 players, over 82% of the field trusted Titleist for their success, compared to 11 for the nearest competitor. Twenty-nine amateurs played in this week’s event through qualifying or exemptions, and all 29 relied upon Titleist golf balls.

KOREAN: Titleist Brand Ambassador Andrew Mckenzie (Pro V1x, 909D3 driver, 585H utility metal, 695MB irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron Putter) won the KPGA Players Championship in a three-way playoff. Mckenzie fired a final round 65 to join the playoff at 8-under 280, and secured the title with a birdie on the first extra hole. Of the 12 players who finished top 10, eight relied on a Titleist golf ball for their success. It was the 11th Titleist golf ball victory of the year, more than any other on the 2008 KPGA Tour. Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 83 players (67%), compared to 17 for the nearest competitor.

WORLDWIDE WINS: Titleist players have combined for 168 wins across the worldwide professional tours this year, more than five times the nearest competitor with 31.
