Over the past quarter century, Sundog Eyewear has become synonymous with the finest in golf and performance sport eyewear. Throughout the company’s history, the priority has been creating sunglasses with the best lens technology available that provide the best protection possible. And with fashion-conscious genuine performers like Paula Creamer and Hunter Mahan, Sundog Eyewear has also come to mean leading-edge styling and design.
“Every year we’ve pushed the envelope as we strive for what we call ‘functional innovation,’ incorporating new technologies only if they improve protection, dependability, and performance,” said John Whitney, Sundog Eyewear Vice President of Product Development. “We know that choosing sunglasses is a very personal decision. With that in mind, our 2009 Collection offers an incredible variety of choices in state-of-the-art lenses including: polycarbonate, polarized, and our new photochromic and melanin infused Mela-lens – complemented by an array of polyamide, composite, and metal frames. With fashion-forward styling and unsurpassed technology, more than ever before, with the 2009 Sundog Eyewear Collection – it’s your choice.”
‘Functional innovation’ aptly describes an exciting new lens in the 2009 Collection. In partnership with BNL Eurolens, a member of the Essilor Group,Sundog Eyewear has created the Sundog Mela-Lens utilizing state-of-the-art melanin lens technology. The exclusive melanin infused lenses provide outstanding veiled glare reduction without polarization and improved contrast and sharpened definition without color shift.
Combined with 98 per cent HEVL (blue light) filtration and 100 per cent UVA/B protection, Sundog Eyewear Mela-Lens technology provides golfers with the ultimate in eyewear: protection and Genuine Performance. This great new Mela-Lens technology is available in the Links, Zone, and Bomb models.
Sundog Eyewear’s Chromo-Lens photochromic lenses, with imbedded halide technology, gradually darken in high levels of UV light, and lighten in low UV light. The Photochromic Chromo-Lens technology is available in the Bomb and Flight models. Sundog’s CRISTEC Polarized Premium lenses provide distortion-free polarized technology and continue to be featured in the Weir Golf Signature Series.
The unique relationship between Sundog Eyewear and LPGA Tour superstar Paula Creamer keeps getting stronger as reflected in the 2009 Paula Creamer Collection. This is the third PC Collection, and Paula once again has been closely involved with the design and very special ‘Paula’ look to her sport and fashion-styled sunglasses. Her internationally popular Prowl model has been refined and complemented by two new styles: Allure (a credit to Paula’s personality) and Iconic (featuring laser etched temple artistry).
Prowl features de-centered 10 Base PC TORIC lens, stainless steel frame front, Uni-fit Adjustable Nose Pads and Integrated Color Flare on the TempleTops. Allure has One Piece 6 Base De-centered Lens, MaxFlex RISLAN Frames, Metal Core Adjustable Megol Nose Pad, and Suspended Lens open frame design. Iconic features One Piece 8 Base De-centered PC lens, MaxFlex RISLAN frames, and Suspended Lens open frame design.
Hunter Mahan prefers the open frame design and helped incorporate it into his 2009 H Signature Series. Mahan is known to his friends as “H” soSundog Eyewear renamed the 2009 model in honor of the close personal and professional relationship between the company and the Ryder Cup star. “H” works closely with Sundog Eyewear on the design of his H Signature Series that embodies his unwavering performance on the course and his cool sense of style off it.
The 2009 H model is available in four frame and lens color combinations and features De-centered Polycarbonate 8 Base Lens, MaxFlex RISLAN frames, Megol Temple Tips and Nose Pads, and an Open Bottom frame design.
