LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 23, 2008) – IPAC (The International Professional Association of ClubFitters) will conduct two PGA Conference sessions during the 2009 PGA Merchandise Show. Both sessions center on educating PGA members about the benefits of club fittings and how they can incorporate a clubfitting program in their facility.
IPAC recognizes that PGA professionals are already “swing specialists” and with a minimal amount of training, they can easily become qualified clubfitters. Alternatively, if the PGA professional does not have the time or interest to become a fitter themselves, than partnering with an IPAC member should benefit both professionals and improve the game for all golfers.
The first PGA session takes place Thursday, January 29th at 10:30 a.m. entitled Clubfitting: Enhance the Customer Experience. This session will focus on how PGA members can incorporate a clubfitting program in their facility, increase their reputation as golf professionals and better serve their members and students. Featured speakers include Steve Benzin, Vice President of IPAC and the KZG Director of Fitting and Education; Josh Mussleman, PGA Teaching Professional and IPAC Member; and Matt Christian, IPAC Member and owner of Elite Golf Performance.
The second session is on Friday, January 30th at 10:30 a.m. entitled Improve Golfer Progress with Custom Fitted Clubs. This session will review the many steps taken in a professional fitting and will illustrate the immediate impact custom fitted clubs have on every golfer’s game. Featured speakers include Mike Dickerson, President of IPAC; Steve Benzin, V.P. of IPAC; and John Cranston, V.P. of Balance-Certified Golf.
“IPAC is reaching out to PGA members” says Steve Benzin, V.P. of IPAC. “We know that PGA members can easily become a qualified fitter with a minimal amount of training, or, alternatively, we are urging them to partner with IPAC members. Together, our two professions of teaching and fitting can help improve every golfer’s game.”
IPAC is a non-profit organization with many worthy goals, including: (1) raise the bar for the clubfitting profession by setting guidelines for skill and integrity; (2) educate the public on what to expect and where to go for a first-rate clubfitting; (3) educate and mentor those who wish to join the profession; and (4) establish a program for continuing education to maintain the highest standards for the profession. The IPAC website (www.ipacgolf.com) contains a wealth of helpful information to guide golfers as to what to expect in a bona fide fitting and a Locator to find a professional fitter who has the requisite skills and integrity to be an IPAC member.
Professional fitters spend years studying and learning their craft. They know the physics of club head and shaft design, they understand the goals of the golfer and they can analyze data from launch monitors and swing analyzers. True professional fitters can improve any golfer’s game. Those who have met a specified level of excellence have been admitted into IPAC by their peers.
IPAC recognizes and appreciates the aid and support of its sponsors including: FlightScope, KZG, Balance-Certified Golf, Back Nine Lytes, Explanar, Fit Chip, and NovaTech Shafts. For more information about IPAC, contact Chris Lesser at lesser@ipacgolf.com or call 818-432-5188.
