Rick Smith introduces the GolfBuddy while giving informative tips on course management.

Cerritos, California – November 25, 2008 GolfBuddy announces the premiere of its GolfBuddy GPS infomercial, which had its first airing on the The Golf Channel, Monday, October 20th at 4:00 p.m. EST-Eastern Standard Time. The infomercial features former KCAL 9, Los Angeles, news anchor Kerry Kilbride, and PGA instructor Rick Smith.

Rick Smith is regarded as one of the PGA tour’s best “sounding boards” for swing advice and has been consistently ranked as one of the top five golf instructors in the world by Golf Digest. He has assisted some of the most accomplished golfer in the world including Phil Mickelson, Rocco Mediate and Vijay Singh.

The 30 minute infomercial takes an informative approach that draws in the viewers’ attention by taking the standard direct-response infomercial format and combining it with the elements of an instructional television program. Rick Smith takes the viewers out on the course at The Golf Club at Terra Lago, in Indio California, and provides a wealth of information on how to use GolfBuddy to improve course management.

The launch of the infomercial is part of a comprehensive ad campaign that will continue through 2009. “We are off to a fantastic start with our national advertising campaign! We have seen an increase in traffic, inquiries, and most importantly, sell-throughs over the past few weeks.” said Harry Jung, CEO, GolfBuddy. “In addition to our airings on the Golf Channel, we will be tremendously increasing all of our print advertising, public relations, and PGA Section sponsorships. It is a complete and comprehensive campaign that will take the GolfBuddy to a new level.”

GolfBuddy is available in two models, the Pro, which retails for $349.99 and the Tour for $429.99. Both units offer the same advanced features, but the Tour comes equipped with a color screen.

GolfBuddy is currently the only hand-held GPS rangefinder on the market that comes with courses pre-programmed into its memory. All the available courses in North America come pre-loaded, with no annual fees or download fees, and the unit is capable of storing up to 20,000 courses. It also features automatic course and hole recognition, a scorecard function, the ability to measure the distance of the last shot, and allows the user to add custom target points.
