Pampling Uses New r7 Limited Driver and Tour Preferred Irons to Win in Home Country

CARLSBAD, Calif. (December 1, 2008) – TaylorMade Golf Tour Staff professional Rod Pampling returned to his home country and prevailed in a three-hole playoff over fellow countryman and TaylorMade Golf Tour Staff professional Marcus Fraser to win The European Tour’s Sportsbet Australian Masters.

After finishing the final round locked at 12-under-par, Pampling sealed the victory with a three-foot par putt on the third playoff hole to claim the Sportsbet Australian Masters green jacket and his first victory on The European Tour.

Pampling relied on the power of his new TaylorMade r7® Limited driver and the precision of his TaylorMade Tour Preferred® irons to secure his fourth worldwide victory.

“I played great and I hit a lot of quality shots,” Pampling said. “There was no stress at any stage.”

Featuring a modern new head shape, the r7 Limited incorporates Movable Weight Technology™ (MWT®) to promote 35 yards of side-to-side trajectory change – the most of any r7 driver. The shape, feel and sound of the r7 Limited have made it immediately popular among tour pros, while its highly effective application of MWT appeals widely to players who prefer the ability to adjust their equipment to promote increased distance and accuracy. Pampling also played the new Tour Preferred irons. Engineered to blend modern technology with classic design, the Tour Preferred irons’ tour-configured sole was shaped with the help of in-depth feedback from TaylorMade Tour Staff professionals. It features a softened leading and trailing edge that work together to minimize resistance and discourage digging, which helps the sole to power smoothly through the turf to promote purer ball-striking.
