Former Junior Golf Star, PGA Apprentice Returns Home To Start Up A Total Golf Adventures (TGA) Franchise In Brevard County, FL

INDIAN HARBOUR, FL- A former junior golfer is returning to his roots, but this time it is a new role: teacher. That’s exactly the case for Brent Naylor, a once a steady on the junior golfer on the Florida circuit, when he acquired the Brevard County franchise for the country’s premier junior golf program.

Brent is not your typical PGA Apprentice, he played the junior and college golf circuit and now has decided to start a business that directly gives back to the game of golf and teaches youngsters the valuable lessons that golf provides.

The 31-year-old Brevard County resident ran into his share of problems while growing up and credits golf with “getting him the straight and narrow.” “I was a pretty tough kid,” the father of a two and a half year old son says, “I started playing in junior golf programs while attending high school and I feel the game really made a difference in my life. I want to give back to our youth and teach them the beauty of golf along with all its benefits.”

Brent, a PGA Apprentice, will build the TGA school programs in Melbourne, Titusville, Merritt Island Sebastian, Suntree/Viera, Rockledge Palm Bay, and surrounding beach communities.

“I came up through the ranks of junior golf, playing on the junior circuit for several years. I also ran the junior program at Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles for the last two years which provided me the tools to start TGA. I am excited to bring TGA to our schools and courses in Brevard.”

“I’ve watched Brent work with the juniors at Hillcrest,” said Joshua Jacobs, President and CEO of TGA, “He has a great persona with kids and a real desire to grow the game and give back. When I learned he wanted to move back to Florida, I approached him about starting up a program as he is a wonderful fit for our network. He is going to make a strong addition to our territory owners.”

Total Golf Adventures (www.totalgolfadvenures.com) was founded in 2003 with a mission to provide all K-8th grade students with access to the game of golf through the first national at-school, after school Golf Enrichment Program and other transition programs. TGA has put more than 40,000 K-8th grade students through its after-school enrichment programs and golf camps. At the present time, there are 45 TGA programs in 22 states with more than 1,500 schools and 225 golf camp locations participating. There are also programs in the Orlando and Miami-Dade area.

TGA is one of the fastest-growing sports franchises and junior golf companies in the nation, as it breaks down the traditional barriers of convenience and cost that prevent 90% of children from playing the game when golf is brought to the schools.

TGA’s 5 Level Golf Enrichment Program, developed by golf professionals and education experts, teaches the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf, while promoting golf’s life values through its character development initiative, “Play the Fair Way with TGA.” TGA transitions students from their schools to the golf course by offering camps, tournaments, clinics and private lessons.

TGA supplies its territory owners with the tools they need to succeed while building a strong base of corporate supporters that supply a variety of services and products to TGA territories. Corporate partners with TGA include Staples, the official print solutions supplier, Nicklaus Golf Equipment, the official provider of junior golf clubs, and Garb, Inc., the official provider of apparel for participants and staff.

Total Golf Adventures is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA) and the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA); is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on AfterSchool, and is a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness.
