Softspikes® Pulsar? Cleats on Shoes of Winning Team at Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge; Winning Team at Merrill Lynch Shootout Wore PrideSports Products
Brentwood, Tennessee, December 15, 2008 … PrideSports, maker of Softspikes® golf cleats, the world’s best selling cleat brand, had another fantastic weekend in professional golf, as the winning team at the Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge wore Softspikes Pulsar, the #1 Cleat on TOUR, while the winning team at the Merrill Lynch Shootout utilized PrideSports products.
At the 2008 Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge, which brought in $3.7 million in donations for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, PrideSports captured a victory backed by the Champions Tour team who all wore Pulsar cleats. At the 2008 Merrill Lynch Shootout, a unique competition featuring 24 of the world’s top professional golfers playing on two-man teams in a mixed-format of modified alternate shot, better ball, and scramble, PrideSports finished on top rounding out the weekend sweep on Tour.
“These end of season team competitions bring together the game’s best players across the professional tours, so it is terrific that our products, including the Softspikes brand, came out on top at both prestigious events,” said Joe Zeller, President, PrideSports. “On each professional tour, our products remain a constant on the leaderboards at nearly every tour stop.”
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
