TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff Professional Tim Clark Wins the Australian Open

CARLSBAD, Calif. (December 15, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff Professional Richard Sterne clinched his fourth career professional European Tour win, after a three-under par effort for a 17-under overall total of 271 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Clark shot a final round five-under 67 at Royal Sydney and prevailed in a playoff over fellow TMaG staffer Matthew Goggin.

Sterne trusted his No. 29 TaylorMade® TP Red™ golf ball with Low-Drag Performance (LDP) and the rest of his TaylorMade equipment to find 68% of his fairways (Ranked 2nd) and 82% of his greens in regulation (Ranked 5th).*

With TaylorMade’s “MY TP Ball” program, golfers have the opportunity to customize their own TaylorMade TP Red and TP Black™ golf balls by emblazoning a one or two-digit number of their choosing, anything from 00 to 99. Sterne plays No. 29 because it is the lowest nine-hole score he has carded as a pro.

The win moves Sterne into the top-five in The Race to Dubai.

TaylorMade Tour staff professionals have now won three of the first four 2009 European Tour events. Garcia, No. 2 in the Official World Golf Rankings, and Rod Pampling used the r7® Limited driver as well as the new Tour Preferred® irons in victories at the HSBC Champions event in Shanghai and the Sportsbet Australian Masters.

Featuring a modern new head shape, the r7 Limited incorporates Movable Weight Technology™ (MWT®) to promote 35 yards of side-to-side trajectory change – the most of any r7 driver. The shape, feel and sound of the r7 Limited have made it immediately popular among tour pros, while its highly effective application of MWT appeals widely to players who prefer the ability to adjust their equipment to promote increased distance and accuracy.

In Sterne’s winning bag:

Driver: TaylorMade r7® SuperQuad™

Fairway Woods: TaylorMade Tour Burner® 3-wood, Tour Burner 7-wood

Irons: TaylorMade r7 TP irons (3-9)

Golf Ball: TaylorMade TP Red with LDP technology
