KALAMAZOO, MI — (January 2, 2009) – Player’s Pass, the nation’s leading provider of reduced-fee rounds of golf at golf courses nationwide, announced today that it is shifting its base of operations from Arizona to Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Andy Mears, President of Player’s Pass, has been a longtime member of the Michigan Section PGA and is a member of the Section’s Growth of the Game Committee.
“Now that our Player’s Pass program has truly spread nationally, it became more important for us to centralize our operations,” explained Mears. “Already having ties to the Michigan area, and with our strongest member concentration being in the Midwest, Michigan became a natural spot from which to conduct our operations. We hope that this will better help us to serve our members and affiliated golf courses.”
Mears spends much of his year working with the different Player’s Pass Ambassadors who have been set up in regions throughout the country. He will be working directly with many of the golf courses — streamlining operations, assisting the Ambassadors and preparing events.
Since 2001, Player’s Pass has helped more than 500,000 golfers play more golf and save money on their rounds of golf and has raised more than $7 million for high school athletic programs and junior golf development.
Player’s Pass, which promotes expanded participation at golf facilities nationwide through a reduced-fee program, is sold as a fundraising product, as a corporate premium product, direct marketed via the Internet and beginning in March 2009 through retail stores and golf pro shops.
