SMT Golf Announces Changes to Popular Golf Club Trade In Program

January 8, 2009

Twitter Facebook Email

The SMT Golf Trade In Program has been VERY popular.

We have brought in roughly 45,000 clubs and clubheads and spent almost 2500 man-hours refurbishing the pieces that were worth saving, and have donated these clubs to organizations that we felt were in the most need and had presented themselves in such a way that showed that they had a plan to promote golf among their group.

We have worked with children’s groups, senior citizen centers, hospitals, orphanages, halfway houses, American fighting troops and veterans groups.

We have introduced hundreds and hundreds of new golfers to this, the greatest game of all.

We have seen faces light up with joy, some with skepticism, some with embarrassment and many with pride. This is a good thing for the golf industry, and SMT Golf is very proud to be running it, and will continue on to spread the word through this program.

We have also learned much through the process, and with that knowledge, we have made a significant change to the SMT Trade In Program, and one that you will immediately see is actually quite beneficial to each of you.

We will no longer be accepting used clubheads in any form.

There are two reasons for this;

1. They are simply far too difficult and time consuming in virtually all cases to refurbish and to turn into something that is worthy of donating for use.

2. There were simply too many that took advantage of the situation overall, by sending in plastic toy clubs and clubs and similar.

That being said, we are simply looking to bring better quality equipment to the new and deserving golfers, and we are looking to increase our percentage of useable equipment from approximately 5% to a full 100%, and at the same time, reduce the amount of time that we have to put into each club to get it ready to be presented for play through the donation process.

Please note that we have made the new Trade In Program very attractive for each of you. And realize that you can now, simply place orders at many of the golf outlets and have the merchandise drop shipped directly here to SMT Golf under your name.

For all of those that think that OEM equipment holds its value over components, well, we clearly just put that myth to rest, as we are now paying you far more than what you can buy it at brand new.

This is a strong program, one that gives back to the community, and SMT Golf will again be the leaders in the industry to promote it.

Buy some clubs, make some money doing it and save a whole lot of money on your SMT orders now and in the future. Thanks in advance for your participation.
