RT3 was a BIG success! AGCP members and sponsors were making plans RT4 as RT3 wound down.
Leith Anderson at the California Golf Technologies web site wrote in his recent article …”The event was inspirational – evidence that there is a core of professional club fitters and clubmakers around the country who care about nothing more than helping their customers play a better game of golf and have more fun. I urge you to find one of those guys and give him some of your business” Read the entire article at
Starting with a Swing Science Certified Rifle Center Certification Class on Tuesday followed by a True Length Technologies (TM) Certification Class on Wednesday, and an OptimalFlight software Certification Class Wednesday evening and a Wedge Fitting Class on Friday and Saturday by Eidolon Wedges, the AGCP organized 5 days of the finest in educational opportunities possible for the members attending the 3rd Annual AGCP Roundtable Educational Seminars.
The 3 day RT3 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday was a tremendous hit with members. The quality of the information was exceptional and the interactive participation with the attendees was educational for all involved. the biggest problem for the AGCP this year was in renting a building that was too small. We anticipated some growth from last year, but we underestimated and had to cut off both sponsors and some attendees from registering. The sponsors were overbooked and we had to eliminate one of our hitting nets to get everyone in the exhibit area.
All of this wrapped around 3 days of presentations and hands on learning experiences from past International Clubmakers of the year Dana Upshaw, Jerry Hoefling, Bob Uebelhor and other Level 10 Qualified Clubfitters and Clubmakers Bill Kelly, Tom Spargo, Mike Moyanhan, Rich Hurley, Jerry Lovell, Roy Nix, and Leith Anderson. These experts discussed everything from launch monitor data and how to read it and interpret it, to counterweighting golf clubs and how to fit golfers with counterweights to maximize the performance of their golf clubs, to grinding heads to achieve weight, bounce or other custom applications from grinding as well as marketing, merchandising and how to set up your business. International Clubmaker of the Year actually performed several Driver fittings on members in attendance at the RT3 conference using his BMT fitting software for sort shafts out by their profiles. The highlight of Jerry’s fitting was when he fitted Brenda Prudham a long driver competitor with Aldila Shafts and nailed her fitting with the exact shaft she uses in competition.
The AGCP Sponsors in 2008 were ACCRA Shafts, Acculength Junior Clubs, Aerotech Shafts, Aldila Shafts, Eidolon Wedges, Enzo Shafts, House of Forged Shafts, Infiniti Golf, Optimalflight software, Leaderboard Golf, MOI Golf, SK Fiber Shafts, Star Grips, Swing Science Golf, True Length Technologies, Tom Wishon Golf Technologies, Tour Lock Weighting Systems, UST Shafts, Versus Golf, and Zelocity Launch Monitors. Virtually all the sponsors in attendance were committed to RT4 and looking forward to the spacious Columbus Irons Works Convention Center where there will be plenty of room for exhibits and hitting nets. Attendees will have far more access to sponsors and their products in 2009 than they had in 2008 and classes will be separated from the Exhibits. Sponsors next year will be able to purchase booth space up to 10ft by 20ft and there will be one on stage opportunity on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday available for a sponsor to make a 2 hour presentation about their product on the Exhibit floor stage.
In addition RT4 will have daily passes for the Exhibits to allow clubmakers from all over to attend the exhibits only if they do not want to sign up for the classes. Daily fees will be $15 per day for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday for exhibits only and a 4 day pass will only be $25. This includes the Demo Day at a local golf course on Wednesday where sponsors will be set up on the driving range to allow attendees to hit their products and test them. Some of the sponsors products will possibly be tested during the half day seminar on launch monitors, swing dynamics, club dynamics and more, presented by International Clubmakers of the Year Dana Upshaw and Bob Uebelhor.
DVDs are now on sale in the AGCP Store for RT3 in advance of their release date. Orders will be shipped in the Spring on a first come, first server basis from the first production. If we sell out as we did last year we will ship as soon as they can be produced.
