2008 Most Lucrative Season of FedEx Cup Champion’s Career

(ATLANTA, GA) — National Golf Products (NGP) — developer of products that make real practice more affordable and accessible, including THE Golf Mat and The Radar — congratulates company spokesman Vijay Singh on a remarkable 2008 season that was the most lucrative of his sterling PGA Tour career.

Renowned for his tireless practice regimen, Singh captured three PGA Tour events in 2008 en route to winning the FedEx Cup. The 45-year-old native of Fiji also claimed his third career PGA Tour money title and recorded a dominating victory at the Chevron World Challenge.

“After my morning work-out, I’ll go hit balls and probably stay out there for four hours,” said Singh. “These kids (on Tour) are strong and if I keep fit, I think I can still hold up against them.”

Strongly committed to improving the practice habits of golfers worldwide, particularly distance management, Singh ranked sixth and 12th on the PGA Tour, respectively, in scoring and greens in regulation. He has frequently promoted THE Golf Mat and The Radar as essential tools for players of all abilities to achieve more effective and safer practice.

“Vijay has been a tremendous spokesperson for our products and is a remarkable example of the way proper practice improves performance,” says Jon Leven, CEO of NGP. “Like all top professionals, his distance management is astounding. THE Golf Mat and The Radar are designed to help all players enhance this skill by knowing and controlling how far their shots will travel when struck on the course.”

Among the many prestigious clubs, facilities and universities that use THE Golf Mat and other NGP products are Ansley Golf Club at Settindown Creek (GA), Black Diamond Ranch (FL), Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (IL), Coyote Ridge Golf Club (TX), Doral Golf Resort and Spa (FL), Harvey Penick Golf Academy (TX), Muirfield Village Golf Club (OH), Reynolds Plantation (GA) The University of Georgia and the University of Notre Dame (IN).

About National Golf Products

The only company completely dedicated to providing golfers worldwide with products that make real practice fun, affordable, accessible and much more productive, NGP was founded in 2007 by Leven and company President Joseph Switzer. Drawing from extensive and successful entrepreneurial backgrounds, the pair initially introduced THE Golf Mat in 2007. An enhanced version of The Radar was introduced in late 2008.

THE Golf Mat provides the same sensation of “give” at impact as taking a divot off of natural turf, encouraging a proper down-and-through swing motion, mitigating the likelihood of injury. Developed using feedback from PGA Tour players, leading teaching professionals, college coaches and top-flight amateurs, THE Golf Mat was recently selected as the “preferred practice surface” by the PGA of America. It has been installed at the award-winning Valhalla Golf Club, PGA Golf Club, PGA Country Club and the 35-acre PGA Learning Center at PGA Village.

The Radar offers 12 “bands” calibrated to provide accurate feedback on shots with drivers, hybrids, irons and wedges that is crucial in a sport which demands distance control. Users simply set the easy-to-use unit on the ground, select the proper band and swing away. Accurate on shots from 10 to 400 yards — and suitable for use on the range, on the course or with a hitting net — The Radar records ball velocity and carry distance and offers instantaneous readings by taking 100,000 measurements from the moment of impact.
