PHOENIX – An extensive educational experience starts at the top, and the latest Golf Academy of America (GAA) hire reflects its’ commitment to higher education. GAA is proud to officially announce Fred Barr, a PGA professional for 33 years, as the new Placement Director at the GAA Phoenix Campus.

Barr brings his experience not only with the PGA, but also 21 years working for the largest golf management company in the world, the American Golf Corporation.”
Progressing through the positions of golf shop assistant to club general manager, Barr worked hard to achieve the title of ‘2000 General Manager of the Year for the Private Division’ representing 78 clubs. Barr was also the recipient of the ‘PGA 2003 Bill Strausbaugh Award’ for distinguished service in mentoring other PGA professionals, integrity, character and outstanding involvement in charity and community service.
Offering a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management, the Golf Academy of America provides graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire.
