Vedbæk, Denmark, January 8, 2008 – TrackMan and The Golf Channel will once again partner in 2009 to provide viewers with the most in-depth statistical analysis during its PGA Tour tournament coverage. The 10-event TrackMan scheduled coverage will start this week with the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship followed by the Sony Open and the Bob Hope Classic.
The Golf Channel will be televising all four rounds of the three opening PGA Tour tournaments. Viewers will be able to see club head speed, ball speed, carry distance and ball flight trajectory for selected players on designated TrackMan holes during the four-day broadcast. Additional stats such as spin rate and launch angle will also be provided. At the Bob Hope Classic, which includes a celebrity pro-am, TrackMan will be set up on the par-3 17th hole at the Palmer Course to give viewers the opportunity to compare stats of their favorite celebrities with their favorite tour players.
TrackMan, the benchmark in club and ball flight monitors, is the most accurate radar-based solution for analyzing the golf swing and resulting ball flight. Because of TrackMan’s accuracy, it is the preferred club and ball flight monitor technology of major equipment manufacturers, golf’s governing bodies; USGA, R&A, golf’s broadcast networks, professional golfers, teachers, club fitters, national teams and top-collegiate golf programs.
This is TrackMan’s second year partnering with The Golf Channel in its coverage of PGA Tour events. In additional to The Golf Channel broadcasts, TrackMan will be used during coverage of select major championships in 2009.
Headquartered in Vedbaek, Denmark, ISG A/S is the developer and owner of the TrackMan™ technology. TrackMan™ is a completely portable, easy to use radar-based solution for analyzing the golf swing and the resulting ball flight. The choice of the PGA Tour, USGA, and R&A, it provides the industry’s most accurate real-time data and graphics on club movement, ball launch, ball flight, and landing.
