HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 8, 2008) – Cleveland Golf/Srixon is pleased to introduce their latest product introductions for 2009, which include the new HiBORE® Monster XLS driver, CG7™ and CG7™ Tour irons, as well as two new VP™ putter models.
New HiBORE® Monster XLS Driver
The new HiBORE® Monster XLS driver is Cleveland® Golf’s latest addition to the HiBORE® family of woods. Available in a Standard, Tour or Draw model, the new Monster was designed to meet the USGA legal limit dimensions. Boasting a face that is 16% larger than its HiBORE® XLS predecessor, the new HiBORE® Monster XLS utilizes Distance Driven Geometry™ by lowering the crown, which in turn, lowers the center of gravity (CG) to produce the only face-centered sweet spot in golf. This latest driver offers golfers of all levels the benefits of Full-Face Performance (FFP), which is driven by a face-centered sweet spot and a more efficient energy transfer to the ball. The HiBORE® Monster XLS’ larger face has allowed its sweet spot to be expanded, while an additional 24 grams of perimeter weighting has enabled it to reach maximum moment of inertia (MOI) for ultimate forgiveness and stability. Beyond the head design, the longer, lighter Fujikura® Fit-On™ Flightspeed shafts lead to higher swingspeeds and additional yardage to make the new Monster the ultimate in geometric performance. All three Monster driver models will carry a street price of $299 and begin shipping January 29, 2009.
New CG7™ & CG7™ Tour Irons
Cleveland® Golf is also pleased to announce the introduction of their latest CG7™ and CG7™ Tour irons. The CG7™ and CG7™ Tour irons have combined Gelback™ Technology and next generation Micro-Cavity® Technology (MCT), which offers players of all levels increased benefits in the areas of feel, distance and forgiveness. Feel comes in the form of 360° Gelback™ Technology; a one piece injection-molded, lightweight insert providing vibration dampening across the entire face. Superior distance is the result of Dynamic MCT, which incorporates progressively sized micro-cavities for optimized CG location in each head. The CG7™ and CG7™ Tour irons also boast heel/toe muscle weighting, which provides forgiveness with 6% greater MOI than traditional irons for maximum performance on off-center shots. The CG7™ irons are street priced at $599 (steel) and $699 (graphite) and the CG7™ Tour irons will carry a street price of $699 (steel). Both the CG7™ and CG7™ Tour irons will begin shipping January 29, 2009.
New VP™109 & VP™509 Putters
The VP™109 and VP™509 putters, with their new and improved visual alignment warning aid, have taken Dual Axis Alignment™ technology to the next level. These two latest additions to Cleveland® Golf’s Visual Performance™ (VP™) putter line help aid players who typically struggle with improper alignment and an inconsistent putting address position. Engineers at Cleveland® Golf have learned that one of the major contributors to missed putts is alignment. Dual Axis Alignment™ technology allows golfers to determine when their hands move out of position and to detect when their eyes are not directly over the ball. By addressing these two issues, VP™ putters help to increase impact consistency while improving distance control for a truer roll on the greens. The new VP™109 and VP™ 509 offer a 30% larger textured elastometer face insert, which provides a soft yet responsive feel. Their low density material, which is seven times less dense than steel, also helps move CG lower and deeper in the head. As an added level of customization, all VP™ putter models are available in standard, flat and upright lie configurations. The MAP pricing on the new VP™ 109 is $109 and the VP™ 509 is $129. Both new putters will begin shipping on February 15, 2009. For more information on the entire VP™ putter line or to download high resolution images, please visit www.clevelandgolf.com.
