GILBERT, AZ. (January 5, 2009) – Player’s Pass, the nation’s leading provider of reduced-fee golf at golf courses nationwide, announced a major milestone today. The company passed the $7 million mark in charitable contributions for high school athletics, golf teams and junior golf.
Andy Mears, President of Player’s Pass and a member of the Growth of the Game Committee in the Michigan Section PGA, has been a champion of the charitable donation component of his company’s program from the outset.
“We have a number of different ways that we funnel money back into high school athletics and numerous golf programs but the bottom line is that it all goes back into the effort to grow the game further,” said Mears. “We all have a responsibility to give back to the game and support youth athletics. Player’s Pass has been a leader in the effort right from the beginning.”
This type of business development and networking has helped Player’s Pass rise quickly in the golf industry as not only a leader in the reduced-fee golf business, but also as a key contributor in helping the industry meet the challenges of a changing economy and satisfy the needs of the modern traveling golfer.
Since 2001, Player’s Pass has helped more than 500,000 golfers play more golf while saving money on their rounds of golf, as well as raising more than $7 million for high school athletic programs and junior golf development. Beginning in 2009, Player’s Pass will focus its fundraising effort solely on junior golf development.
Player’s Pass, which promotes expanded participation at golf facilities nationwide through a reduced-fee program, is sold as a fundraising product, as a corporate premium product, direct marketed via the Internet and beginning in March 2009 through retail stores and golf pro shops.
