Orlando, Fla., (Jan. 16, 2009) – Golfweek’s Golfest, the nation’s largest outdoor golf lifestyle extravaganza and demo day, will kick off its 2009 event series by featuring an ambitious fundraising effort at its annual Orlando event, held Jan. 24-25 at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, with all proceeds benefiting The First Tee.
Hosted by Golfweek – the most authoritative, authentic and independent name in golf – and presented by Winn Grips, Golfweek’s Golfest Orlando offers attendees the opportunity to donate to The First Tee and help grow the game, all while enjoying a fun-filled weekend of golf entertainment.
“Golfweek’s Golfest has always been committed to furthering the game with its expansive showcase of the latest golf equipment,” said Armand Cimaroli, Golfweek director of events. “But in working with The First Tee, we are able to really make a meaningful impact on the future of the sport by actively contributing to golf’s growth and ensuring the game’s stability through its introduction to today’s youth.”
Held just days before the annual PGA Merchandise Show, Golfweek’s Golfest Orlando allows attendees to try and buy golf’s latest and greatest equipment, apparel and accessories – even before the pros do – while also enjoying golf entertainment on the North Florida PGA Main Stage and a 19th Hole presented by Gentleman Jack and Golfnow.com, in addition to contests, food and fun for the entire family.
As a special treat for attendees, Golfweek’s Golfest Orlando will include a dynamic Long Drive Demonstration, featuring RE/MAX World Long Drive record-holder Jamie Sadlowski, two-time National Long Drive Champion Art Sellinger and LPGA British Open Champion Karen Stupples. Guests can also swing by the Chrysler display and test drive one of their featured 2009 models.
Additionally, Golfweek’s Golfest Orlando attendees receive:
– A $10 Edwin Watts Golf gift card
– One complimentary round of golf at Hunter’s Creek Golf Club (with paid cart fee; certain restrictions apply)
– One free regripping by Winn Grips (one per attendee; no putters)
– Free PGA golf lessons courtesy of the North Florida PGA and PGA Play Golf America
– Unlimited practice balls to demo major equipment brands
