PLANO, TEXAS, January 20, 2009 – Adams Golf (NasdaqCM:ADGF) is proud to announce the addition of four-time PGA Tour champion and three-time Ryder Cup veteran Chad Campbell to its PGA Tour staff. Campbell will wear the Adams Golf hat, carry the tour staff bag and will be playing the Idea Tech a4 irons, an Adams Golf hybrid and the Insight Tech a4 driver when he starts his season at the Bob Hope Classic later this week.
“Chad brings exceptional talent and an impressive record of achievement to our tour staff. He is consistently one of the best ball strikers on tour and therefore his decision to put his trust in Adams Golf speaks highly regarding our technical expertise,” said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. “Equally important, Chad is a class act who we believe will be a great partner for years to come.”
Campbell is coming off another very solid season in which he finished 24th on the 2008 PGA Tour Money List with earnings of more than $2.4 million, due in part to seven Top 10 and 14 Top 25 finishes in 28 events played. He ranked sixth in All-Around statistics, which is a combination of stats such as driving distance, driving accuracy, greens hit in regulation and scoring average, among others. Campbell’s consistent play and superior ball striking ability led to his selection as a U.S. Ryder Cup Team member for the third time of his career. He posted a 2-1-0 record helping the U.S. Team to a triumphant victory.
“I’m excited about joining a company that is committed to developing world-class golf clubs and where I can make an impact.” said Campbell. “I had the chance to test several drivers throughout the off-season and the Adams driver looked and performed the best. Additionally, I fell in love with the Idea Tech a4 irons the first time I hit them. It should be a great year and I’m excited to get going.”
Campbell is the latest champion to represent the Adams Golf brand joining the likes of Tom Watson, Bernhard Langer, Aaron Baddeley, Brittany Lang and LPGA Rookie of the Year, Yani Tseng. He was born and raised in West Texas and now resides in the Fort Worth area with his wife Amy. Campbell turned pro in 1996 after graduating from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and has played on the PGA Tour since 2001.
