30-Degree Offset Angle Increases Ball Visibility and Creates Contact with the Club at its Maximum Speed and Trajectory; “Attack Angle” Promotes an Ascending Blow, Minimizing Spin and Maximizing Distance
Brentwood, Tennessee, January 20, 2009 … PrideSports (PGA Show booth #1565), the world’s leading producer of wooden golf tees and the #1 Golf Tee On Tour, today debuted a revolutionary alternative golf tee with the launch of PTS Offset ™, the first plastic golf tee to feature a 30-degree offset angle, and “the most advanced tee allowed by the USGA.” The proprietary new offset design, which joins the PrideSports Professional Tee System (PTS) arsenal, allows the tee to increase ball visibility, while creating contact with the club at its maximum speed and optimum trajectory, resulting in longer drives.
The innovative 30-degreee “attack angle” on the PTS Offset golf tee also promotes an ascending blow, designed to minimize spin and further maximize distance. This optimal launch angle, combined with reduced tee friction, produces the most innovative, high performance golf tee.
PTS Offset joins the PTS color code system that makes it easy to identify PrideSports’ two most popular tee sizes: ProLength®, a 2 ¾” tee that features a yellow locator bar, and ProLength-PLUS®, a 3 ¼” tee that features a blue locator bar. The locator bar helps to identify how far to put the tee in the ground, thus increasing height consistency every time.
“As a complement to our longstanding wooden golf tee business, and the popular PTS line of tees, we have developed the innovative PTS Offset tee, which offers performance features unlike any tee in golf today,” said Joe Zeller, President, PrideSports. “In meeting USGA specifications with our design, the PTS Offset tee provides a launch angle and contact point that has never before been possible, resulting in longer, straighter drives.”
The Professional Tee System™ (PTS) was created based on golfer demand, at both the professional and amateur levels, for a system to identify the golf tee lengths that worked best for today’s diverse oversize and hybrid golf club models. As a result, PrideSports abandoned the decades-old style of identifying golf tee lengths by inches and created PTS, a proprietary system of color-coded tees that allows for easy identification of length, and which matches the tee to a clubhead size.
