National Golf Products to Showcase Innovative, Cost Effective Practice System at 2009 PGA Merchandise Show

THE Golf Mat and The Radar — Endorsed by Vijay Singh — on Display at Booth #1717

(ATLANTA, GA) — Continuing its philosophy of offering products that make real practice more affordable and accessible, National Golf Products (NGP) announces it will showcase the enhanced version of The Radar — a portable distance management device — and THE Golf Mat at the 2009 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida (Booth #1717).

In a sport that demands distance control, The Radar — using 12 calibrated “bands” for utmost accuracy — is the first truly portable and affordable ball flight monitor that allows players of all ages and abilities to practice more efficiently. Precise on shots from 10 to 400 yards — and suitable for use on the range, on the course or with a hitting net — The Radar records velocity and carry distance and offers instantaneous readings by taking 100,000 measurements from the moment of impact.

“Vijay Singh and many other PGA Tour players are on record as saying that distance management is the real key to improving scoring,” says Jon Leven, CEO of NGP. “THE Golf Mat and Radar assures golfers make practice valuable by using products that mimic real turf conditions and are designed for year-round and indoor usage.”

Recently selected as the “preferred practice surface” of The PGA Learning Center, PGA Golf Club, PGA Country Club and Valhalla Golf Club, THE Golf Mat provides the same sensation of “give” at impact as taking a divot off of natural turf, encouraging a proper down-and-through swing motion and mitigating the likelihood of injury. Incorporating a patented high tech composite spring embedded below fairway-length turf to produce the first “true grass” alternative, it has a lifespan of more than 200,000 swings, far exceeding traditional mats.

Among the many prestigious clubs, facilities and universities that use THE Golf Mat and other NGP products are Ansley Golf Club at Settindown Creek (GA), Black Diamond Ranch (FL), Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (IL), Coyote Ridge Golf Club (TX), Doral Golf Resort and Spa (FL), Harvey Penick Golf Academy (TX), Muirfield Village Golf Club (OH), PGA Village (FL), Reynolds Plantation (GA), the University of Georgia (GA) and the University of Notre Dame (IN).
