President of Nike Golf to be Recognized at Annual Conference
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, January 21, 2009 – Cindy Davis, president of Nike Golf has been named the recipient of the 2008 EWGA Leadership Award. She will receive this honor at the awards gala dinner during the 2009 EWGA “Dare to Lead, Dare to Grow” Conference at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California on February 18 -21.
The EWGA bestows this annual recognition to individuals who have made longtime and outstanding contributions to women’s golf by paving the way for female golfers – whose dedication to the game has inspired others to follow in their footsteps. Past honorees have included Patty Berg, Peggy Kirk Bell, Judy Bell, Judy Dickinson, Michelle McGann, Alice Dye, Kathy Whitworth, Shirley Spork, Marlene Hagge, Renee Powell, Golf For Women Magazine, Linda Vollstedt, Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott, M.G. Orender, and the 2007 recipient Zayra Calderon.
Named president of Nike Golf in September 2008, Davis joined the company three years ago as General Manager of Nike Golf USA. She is responsible for driving market leadership and global growth for all aspects of Nike Golf. Previously, she was Sr. Vice President of the Golf Channel and has held various senior management level roles at the Arnold Palmer Golf Company and the LPGA.
