Overland Park, Kan., January 23, 2009 – Bushnell Outdoor Products, the leading manufacturer of electronic measuring devices on the PGA Tour, has announced that it will expand its partnership with iGolf in order to provide the most comprehensive line of GPS products in the golf market.
In late 2008, Bushnell introduced the Yardage Pro GPS, a handheld GPS device designed specifically for the golf market that features an easy-to-use interface which gauges distances to the front, center and back of the green. The Bushnell Yardage Pro GPS is “Powered by iGolf”, and utilizes iGolf’s worldwide database of over 20,000 courses to provide distances from the ball to the green at any point on the golf course. This technology gives amateur and professional golfers the ability to swing with confidence and improve their scores.
For 2009, under the expanded partnership, Bushnell has acquired the rights to iGolf’s line of handheld golf GPS devices. The popular iGolf Neo handheld GPS will be re-branded and marketed under the Bushnell name, and two new premium devices will be launched as the Bushnell Yardage Pro XG and XGC, previously sold as the iGolf Triton and Saturn, respectively. The Yardage Pro XG, with an MSRP of $249.99, features a high-contrast LCD screen and custom maps which provide the distance to any point on the green.
The Yardage Pro XGC, with an MSRP of $349.99, features a large 2.2″ transreflective color screen. The XGC utilizes custom color maps which provide distances to any point on the hole, including landing areas, hazards, and greens. The compact lightweight design allows golfers to slip either device comfortably into their pocket or golf bag. Both units are equipped with the latest advancements in GPS technology, including the advanced SiRF Star III GPS receiver and a long life rechargeable lithium ion battery.
