(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) – Fresh off its successful launch into the golf industry, and backed by a decade of developing state-of-the-art infrastructure for railroads and the U.S. military, Axion Golf today announces it will showcase its durable, environmentally-sound and cost-effective products at the 2009 Golf Industry Show (GIS), booth number 1958, February 5-7, at the New Orleans Convention Center.

Sample sections of marine pilings, tongue-and-groove boards, stringers (I-beams) and decking will allow visitors to experience first-hand the superior strength, design and cosmetic qualities of Axion polymer composites. Company representatives will be available to explain the many advantages of Axion products versus conventional building materials such as wood, steel and concrete.

Axion International Holdings Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AXIH) entered the golf industry in fall 2008 with a decade of its materials used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Union Pacific and other major infrastructure builders. Axion Golf’s products have earned endorsements from PGA TOUR star and noted course architect Brad Faxon as well as Billy Casper Golf, one of America’s largest course management companies and a leading environmental steward.

The GIS is an innovative trade show featuring the largest exhibit floor in the industry. The event combines education, networking and solutions for golf course superintendents, owners/operators, general managers, chief operating officers, architects and builders.

“The 2009 GIS is the ideal venue to educate industry leaders about the long-term benefits and inherent value of using Axion products for their golf course structures,” says James Kerstein, CEO of Axion. “Choosing Axion enhances a course’s ‘green’ credentials with a long-lasting, cost-saving and attractive alternative to traditional materials.”

In addition to bridges traversing waterways, wetlands and other challenging topographies, Axion composites are used to create boardwalks, bulk-heading, retaining walls and landscaping for framing walkways, cart paths, tee boxes and steps.

Additional advantages of Axion structures:

* Lower cost per square foot for higher quality material

* Textured surface doesn’t absorb water for less slippage than wood (safety upgrade)

* Withstand severe weather and flooding

* Customized for extreme traffic and weight (golf carts, maintenance and construction vehicles)

* Décor of classic and contemporary models (various surface, railing and bumper colors, textures and shapes) blend with course surroundings

* Minimal color fading and looks new over time

* Impervious to moisture decay, fungus and insect infestation

* Absence of toxins eliminates pollution and preserves wildlife habitat

* Quick, hassle-free installation by contractor or course staff reduces time, manpower, machinery, golfer disruption and cost

* Virtually maintenance-free – no painting, staining or patching – saves on repair labor and downtime

About Axion International

In conjunction with scientists from Rutgers University, Axion developed patented technologies which convert 100-percent recycled consumer and industrial materials – waste otherwise destined for landfills – into structural products used in commercial applications. These super-polymer composites are extremely strong, flexible in use, long-lasting, low maintenance and cost-effective. For these reasons, the U.S. Army recently selected Axion bridges to carry its heavily-armored tanks. Operating from a “green” base with a “no-trees-cut-down” mentality, Axion management has more than 100 years in the plastics industry.
