HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 23, 2009) – Cleveland® Golf/Srixon® is pleased to introduce their Bloom™ line of women’s equipment. The new Bloom™ line includes a HiBORE® Bloom™ driver, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, as well as a Bloom™ Niblick™, CG14™ wedge and VP™ 509 putter.
The Cleveland® Golf Bloom™ line is a comprehensive performance line which is designed specifically for women and features the most advanced game-improvement technology available. Each club in the Bloom™ line features a lightweight and high MOI design that improves distance and forgiveness. The new line also marks the first time that Cleveland® Golf has ever introduced a complete line of matching clubs, bags, accessories and apparel made by Cleveland® Classics.
The new HiBORE® Bloom™ line family of woods utilizes Distance Driven Geometry™ by lowering the crown which, in turn, lowers the center of gravity (CG) to produce the only face-centered sweet spot in golf. The HiBORE® Bloom™ driver takes performance to the extreme by bringing the benefits of “Full-Face Performance™” to players of all levels. With its 17% larger face and 13% higher MOI, compared to its W-Series™ predecessor, the HiBORE® Bloom™ driver also offers maximum size and increased stability for added confidence and control off the tee. The HiBORE® Bloom™ fairway wood has a 24% more head volume compared to the original HiBORE® W-Series™ fairway and boasts vastly increased MOI for added stability and greater accuracy. The HiBORE® Bloom™ fairway also has a 19% larger face, which offers players a larger hitting area and makes the club look and feel extremely hittable. The HiBORE® Bloom™ hybrid incorporates science into a LPGA Tour inspired shape. LPGA Tour feedback has led to a more blunt toe and symmetrical shape for an extremely appealing look at address. Its increased offset promotes a square face at impact, helping to prevent slices and offering greater directional and trajectory control.
The new HiBORE® Bloom™ irons is the only hybrid iron product with full hollow construction throughout the entire set, providing a consistent feel and a seamless transition from three iron to wedge. Their progressive offset and sole width promotes proper ball striking by supporting a shallow attack angle in the long irons and a progressively steeper attack angle towards the shorter irons, thus helping to create optimal launch conditions.
Cleveland® Golf’s revolutionary Bloom™ Niblick™ is shorter and more controllable hybrid club that incorporates classic concept with modern design. The new Niblick™ combines the best features of a wedge, putter, iron and hybrid to create the ultimate hybrid scoring club. Specifically designed to improve scoring, the Niblick™ enables players to hit four different types of shots, including chips, pitches, approach shots and recoveries. The Niblick™ features Gelback™ technology, which is a lightweight, visco-elastic, vibration-damping material that is placed directly behind the hitting area of the clubface. Gelback™ is vibration-tuned to remove unwanted vibration on mis-hits, while still allowing the player necessary feedback from the clubhead for a soft yet responsive feel. The Niblick™ also features Cleveland® Golf’s patented Zip Grooves™. This technology creates larger groove volume which helps channel more debris compared to traditional grooves, thus leading to improved contact with the ball. This breakthrough technology features consistent milling of each groove to maximum conforming dimensions, which leads to optimum spin on each and every shot.
The new Bloom™ CG14™ wedges offer a perfect balance of performance, versatility and forgiveness, all with unprecedented feel. The Bloom™ CG14™ design integrates Cleveland® Golf’s most advanced manufacturing and feel technology with a tour scrutinized shape, sole and offset. They also feature Cleveland® Golf’s breakthrough wedge technology known as ZIP Grooves™, which gives them the biggest and most precisely milled grooves available in a Cleveland® wedge. ZIP Grooves™ are milled to maximum conforming dimensions using a proprietary CNC milled bit that creates envelope-stretching geometry for added shot consistency. The Bloom™ CG14™ has a larger groove volume which helps channel more debris at impact than traditional grooves, making ZIP Grooves™ perfect for players that want optimal spin and distance control. The new Bloom™ VP™ 509 putters, with its new and improved visual alignment warning aid, has taken Dual Axis Alignment™ technology to the next level. This latest addition to the Cleveland® Golf Visual Performance™ (VP™) putter line helps aid players who typically struggle with improper alignment and an inconsistent putting address position. Engineers at Cleveland® Golf have learned that one of the major contributors to missed putts is alignment. Dual Axis Alignment™ technology allows golfers to determine when their hands move out of position and to detect when their eyes are not directly over the ball. By addressing these two issues, The Bloom™ VP™ 509 putter helps to increase impact consistency while improving distance control for a truer roll on the greens. The new VP™ 509 offers a 30% larger textured elastometer face insert, which provides a soft yet responsive feel. Their low density material, which is seven times less dense than steel, also helps move CG lower and deeper in the head.
