Follows on Driver & Wood Shaft Win at Sony Open

(Vista, CA – For Immediate Release) — Fujikura is the #1 Driver Shaft Brand for PGA Tour professionals and amateurs at the renowned Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
Fujikura beat all competitors combined in the amateur count at the Hope. This leadership position follows being the #1 Driver and Wood Shaft brand which includes hybrids at the Sony Open.
“We’re excited to begin 2009 just as we ended 2008, leading the Tour and acceptance among top amateur players,” says Dave Schnider President/COO of Fujikura. “We’re thrilled that these premier players of all levels have chosen Fujikura shafts when their performance counts.
“We know this ongoing leadership gives us confidence that our new product introduction of the Motore F1 Series in 2009 will help us not only maintain, but grow and solidify our expanding leadership position. In just this first week working with the pros, we were able to put 7 Motores in play.” says Schnider. “Motore, meaning ‘Engine’ in Italian, will reinforce the shaft as the engine of the golf club.”
The Motore F1 Series shafts feature Fujikura’s proprietary and proven H.I.T. which stores more energy during the downswing and releases the energy just before impact while maintaining the shaft and club’s stability. The result is greater distance and accuracy in all clubs. Motore’s “smart” shaping of the tip enables these benefits while minimizing weight, allowing the tip end to accelerate faster than conventional tips.
The Motore F1 Series shafts will be introduced next week at the PGA Merchandise Show. They will be available through Fujikura’s Charter Dealers across the United States and around the world beginning in February. They have already become popular in the first tournaments of 2009.
Fujikura has been the#1 Driver Shaft and Wood Shaft Brand which includes hybrids on the PGA Tour for the eighth straight year, and is the primary supplier to many national brand OEM’s, offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs.
The brand’s Tour leadership was highlighted by being the leading driver shaft brand at all the Tour majors in 2008.
Fujikura also has shown dramatic, consistent growth over the last three years across all consumer handicaps in shafts used in new drivers, according to the most recent Darrell Survey National Consumer Report. The recent report shows that Fujikura grew 146% in New Driver Shaft Usages, exceeding leading competition from 2006 to 2008. Darrell conducts this annual report amongst golfers of all handicap levels at private, public and municipal clubs across the United States.
Fujikura is the primary supplier to many national brand OEM’s offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs. Fujikura products also can be custom fitted through its network of over 900 Charter Dealers. To learn more, visit Fujikura’s website at www.fujikuragolf.com.
