NORTHVILLE, MI–Jamie Coley, a former high school golf coach and personal fitness trainer has acquired the Total Golf Adventures franchise for Western Wayne and Washtenaw Counties giving the premier junior golf program additional exposure in this state.
Husband and Wife Team Coley, will build at-school, after-school golf enrichment programs outside of Detroit while transitioning the students to golf courses through summer camp programs, clinics and tournaments for the communities of Northville, Plymouth, Canton, Livonia, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Chelsea and Saline.
“Not only am I passionate about golf, but I have a leg up on most new TGA Territory owners as I was an instructor for the previous owner here. I am close with the school administrators, have prior business experience and my passion for working with youngsters will certainly be a boost in launching my business.”
Originally from Tennessee, Jamie had been involved in numerous other business enterprises from marketing to being a personal trainer. “There is nothing like owning your own business. The timing is right for David and me to undertake this exciting new venture. To me, teaching golf to children in elementary and middle school is important not only because they can learn a lifelong sport, but we teach and encourage skills that will carry them all their lives such as respect, responsibility and honesty.”
“With the amount of time and passion Jamie has already invested in teaching golf to juniors, we are truly fortunate to have her on our team,” said Joshua Jacobs, President and CEO of this fast-growing junior golf company. “Jamie knows our program, knows our teaching system and already understands how to make the programs successful in the schools for both students and the parents.”
TGA has put more than 45,000 K-8th grade students through its 43 programs in 22 states, with more than 1,700 schools participating. TGA also has franchises operating in Macomb, Grosse Pointes and East Oakland County in Michigan.
Total Golf Adventures (TGA) was founded in 2003 with a mission to provide all K-8th grade students with access to the game of golf through the first national at-school, after-school Golf Enrichment Program.
TGA is one of the fastest-growing sports franchises and junior golf companies because the traditional barriers of convenience and cost that prevent 90% of children from playing golf are eliminated when golf is brought to the schools.
TGA’s 5 Level Golf Enrichment Program, developed by golf professionals and education experts, teaches the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf, while promoting golf’s life values through its character development initiative, “Play the Fair Way with TGA.” TGA transitions students from their schools to the golf course by offering camps, tournaments, clinics and private lessons.
TGA supplies its territory owners with the tools they need to succeed while building a strong base of corporate supporters that supply a variety of services and products to TGA territories. Just added to a growing list of corporate partners/sponsors is Staples®, which provides printed marketing solutions for all TGA territories. Already participating with TGA are Nicklaus Golf Equipment, the official provider of junior golf clubs, and Garb, Inc., the official provider of apparel for participants and staff.
Total Golf Adventures is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA) and the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA); is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on AfterSchool, and is a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness.
