RIFE Captures Top 5 on PGA TOUR and 2nd Place Finish on Champions TOUR
Sanford, FL – RIFE had 7 putters in play on the PGA TOUR this past weekend at The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic held in La Quinta, CA and captured a Top 5 Finish with its brand new 2009 Aussie Mallet putter. In his first event with a RIFE Putter in the bag, the Top 5 Finisher fired 27 under par for the week and finished 7th in the putting stats averaging 26.8 putts per round. It was his best finish on the PGA Tour since March of 2008.
The big story of the week however, for RIFE, was the debut of its new IMO Putter. After struggling in the first 2 rounds, the flashy, 23 year veteran of the PGA and European Tours became the first player to put the new 2009 RIFE IMO putter into play and proceeded to shoot the low round of the tournament (61) on Friday.
The Aussie Mallet and IMO putters are set to be unveiled later this week at the 2009 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL.
RIFE narrowly missed their 11th victory in 12 months on The Champions Tour as Andy Bean rolled his RIFE Cayman putter to a 2nd Place Finish at the Mitsubishi Classic in Kona, Hawaii. Of the 34 players in the field RIFE had 8 putters in play and captured two Top 10 Finishes. RIFE continues to be the # 1 Putter on the Champions Tour with 14 wins and 3 Major Championships since 2007.
About the IMO Putter
“IMO, which stands for Inline Momentum is a center mass concept where we place at least 85% of the putter’s head weight in the middle 40% of the club head, said Matt Molloy,” President of RIFE putters. “Because the IMO is shafted to be face balanced, the shaft is “inline” with the concentration of mass promoting an extremely stable, on-plane stroke path. Since virtually no golfers mis-hit a putt more than 5/8″ to either side of center, 85% of the putter’s mass is directed into and thru the ball. This momentum helps cure one of the major faults in putting…deceleration. By concentrating mass directly behind the ball we improve the putter heads ability to drive thru the ball at impact. We’ve given the putter more momentum, or inline momentum. As with all RIFE products the IMO putter will feature RIFE’s patented Roll Groove TechnologyTM. We priced the IMO at a very reasonable $149.80 to introduce it to as broad an audience as possible.”
RIFE is also introducing new line extensions of the Two Bar Hybrid, Island Series and IBF Tour Series putters. According to Molloy, “The new Tour Hybrid Mallet and Blade putters feature a more compact head design than the original and a Tour Black finish. The Abaco, Bimini and Cayman are new to the Island Series and the new Aussie Mallet and Tour Black Barbados are line extensions of the originals that round out a great new product lineup for 2009.”
RIFE encourages all show attendees and media members to stop by Booth #1303 to demo their tour proven technology.
