EWGA 2008 Pro-Get-A-Member Prize Winner Announced

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, January 29, 2009 – The EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) salutes Shanda Imlay, a 24-year Class A PGA professional as the 2008 winner in the EWGA Pro-Get-A-Member program. Running the FUNdaMental Golf & Learning Center in Oregon City, Ore., Imlay encourages her women students and customers to join the EWGA. Her name was selected in a random drawing of all PGA and LPGA professionals who recruited EWGA members during 2008. She is receiving a $100 American Express Gift Card, compliments of the EWGA.

Based on the association’s very popular Member-Get-A-Member program, the Pro-Get-A-Member campaign is designed to reward golf professionals who recruit women to join the EWGA. The pro’s name, club and PGA/LPGA affiliation need to be included on the new member application to be entered in the annual drawing for a $100 American Express Gift Card. For more information on the Pro-Get-A-Member program see the EWGA at the PGA Merchandise Show in Booth # 4856.

Throughout the year, EWGA brochures and membership applications are available at no charge upon request. Contact Becky Macaluso, Managing Director, Chapter and Member Services at 800-407-1477 ext. 11 or becky_macaluso@ewga.com

“Why not get rewarded for something you already do,” says Pam Swensen, CEO of the EWGA. “We appreciate the efforts of PGA and LPGA professionals all over the country to grow the game and support women’s golf. Simply by putting your name on EWGA membership applications and having EWGA brochures in your pro shop, you could be the $100 gift card winner next year.”

A 2008 survey of EWGA members conducted by the PGA of America found that the average EWGA member plays 32 rounds per year. EWGA members spent an average of $4296 on golf activities, merchandise and golf related travel, with each local EWGA chapter annually generating $602,900 in golf related spending. With over 125 chapters throughout the United States, as well as international chapters in Canada and France, the EWGA represents nearly $75 million in revenue to the golf industry.

Started in 1991, the EWGA connects women to learn, play, and enjoy golf for business and fun.

The EWGA is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For more information about the EWGA and its membership, visit www.ewga.com.
