MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Number One Ultralite Shaft on Tour, Grafalloy®, continued its winning legacy by taking the first-, second- and third-place money positions at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters on the European Tour.
The Qatar Masters winner played Grafalloy Blue shafts in his driver and fairway woods and shot rounds of 69, 67, 64 and a final 69 to complete a three-shot victory on a Arabian Pennisula. The victory moves the winner among the world’s top 30 players and virtually secures his debut at the Masters Tournament at Augusta in April. Similarly, the tournament’s runner-up played Grafalloy ProLaunch Platinum in his driver and Grafalloy Blue shafts in his fairway woods, and the third-place player used Grafalloy Blue shafts in his driver and fairway woods.
“We are very excited to chalk up another victory for Grafalloy on the world stage,” says Don Brown, product development manager for Grafalloy. “The Grafalloy Blue is the first ultra-light shaft designed specifically for today’s oversized drivers and it features our Micro-Mesh Tip design, a technology which is also utilized in our next generation ProLaunch Axis shafts.”
Recently, Grafalloy unveiled its all-new ProLaunch Axis shaft series which combines the Micro-Mesh Tip Design with the Smart-Ply™ Technology which debuted in Grafalloy’s highly acclaimed Axis shaft. Brown explains the Micro-Mesh Tip increases torsional resistance to off-center hits while the Smart-Ply fiber orientation optimizes shaft consistency during the swing and through impact, maximizing energy transfer, power and tour-proven accuracy.
In addition, the Smart-Ply Technology utilizes ultra-thin layers of unidirectional graphite material along six separate axes – more than twice as many as traditional shaft designs.
Now available, Grafalloy ProLaunch Axis Red and Blue provides the launch conditions the golfing world has come to expect from the ProLaunch family with the increased performance of an Axis shaft. The ProLaunch Axis Red shaft creates a boring, penetrating ball flight, while ProLaunch Axis Blue maximizes distance for players seeking higher launch angles. The sub-60 gram Blue series will be available in Regular, Senior, Stiff and Extra-Stiff flexes while the 63-gram Red while be available in R-X flexes. MSRP $150.
