February 3, 2009 (Oakbrook Terrace, IL) Zero Friction staff player Kenny Perry started off 2009 much like he ended 2008, with a victory. After shooting a final round of 69 (-2), Perry won the FBR Open in a playoff defeating Charley Hoffman. For the tournament, Perry finished at 14-under-par with a score of 270.
The event, which was held at TPC Scottsdale, is Perry’s 13th career victory. He is coming off of a very successful 2008 season in which he recorded 4 victories and was a member of the United States Ryder Cup Team.
“Kenny is an incredibly talented player and it’s nice to see he is picking up where he left off in ’08,” said John Iacono, Founder and C.E.O of Excel Golf Products, Inc. “I’m sure it is the first of many wins for him in 2009 and we are glad to be associated with such a great golfer.”
The Zero Friction Performance Golf Tee has a unique three-pronged design that significantly reduces the contact area between the ball and tee at impact. The tees have also accounted for over 50 professional victories and more than 250 top-ten finishes.
For the FBR Open, Kenny Perry had an average driving distance of 297.6 yards.
