(Vista, CA – February 3, 2009) Fujikura’s Rombax shaft technology was used in the driver and fairway woods played by the FBR Open winner and the driver of the Dubai Desert Classic winner, reinforcing the brand’s Tour leadership.
“This is another thrilling victory for this veteran PGA Tour pro at the FBR Open. We’re excited to watch him continue the momentum of a terrific 2008 season, when he played Rombax technology in his three wins,” says Dave Schnider, President/COO of Fujikura. “We also salute the winner of the Dubai Desert Classic, who won his first professional tournament, defeating one of golf’s accomplished players by one stroke.”
“These results are especially exciting because these talented and discriminating players respect the innovative material design and technology, and superior performance of Fujikura shafts in partnering with our OEM clubmakers,” says Pat McCoy, Fujikura PGA Tour Manager. “It’s also impressive to start 2009 in this solid leadership position, building on our 2008 Tour success.”
Fujikura is building its Tour leadership position with the introduction of the new Motore F1 Series at the PGA Merchandise Show last week. The new shafts have been put in play by seven Tour pros already this year. They will be available through Fujikura’s Charter Dealers across the United States, and around the world beginning in February.
The Motore F1 Series shafts feature Fujikura’s proprietary and proven H.I.T. which stores more energy during the downswing and releases the energy just before impact, while maintaining the stability of the entire club. The result is greater distance and accuracy in all clubs. Motore’s “smart” shaping of the tip enables these benefits while minimizing weight, allowing the tip end to accelerate faster than conventional tips.
Fujikura’s Tour leadership was highlighted by being the leading driver shaft brand at all the Tour majors in 2008. The brand’s dominant leadership position reinforces Fujikura’s position as the PGA Tour’s #1 Driver and Wood shaft brand for the last eight years.
Fujikura is the primary supplier to many national brand OEM’s offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs. Fujikura products also can be custom fitted through its network of over 900 Charter Dealers. To learn more about Fujikura, visit www.fujikuragolf.com.
