Artwork was presented during Monday night Annika Celebration

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 3, 2009 – The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) honored Annika Sorenstam last night at the Annika Celebration by unveiling a three-dimensional retrospective piece of art of her career. The Annika Celebration was hosted by IMG at the Ginn Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla. The artwork was created by Lawrence Romorini, founder of One Of A Kind Art Studio, to commemorate her career as the greatest female golfer of our generation. LPGA Commissioner Carolyn F. Bivens presented the art.

“Annika’s legacy on and off the course is nothing short of spectacular. She is one-of-a-kind,” Bivens said. “Fortunately, we found the perfect partner in One Of A Kind Art Studio. Over the past six months, we collaborated with the studio’s designer Lawrence Romorini on everything from the direction of the piece to the supplying of original material we felt would best reflect Annika’s career. In the end, we feel we were able to present a truly unique gift – one as distinctive as the career it is meant to reflect.”

“The enthusiasm and energy that LPGA brought in was an inspiration,” Romorini said. “The art, like the story, is truly One Of A Kind. It is a legacy of an amazing career that can be enjoyed every day for many years.”

Measuring 52″ x 23″ x 4 1/2″, the art incorporates an actual 8 iron, surrounded by more than 170 miniaturized photos, publications and actual pieces of memorabilia that reflect Annika’s major tournament wins, awards, and favorite memories. An actual horseshoe holds a golf ball with “59”, symbolizing Annika’s extraordinary achievement as the first woman in history to card a 59 (-13) in the second round of the LPGA’s Standard Register PING tournament.

A chronology of Annika’s achievements is photoengraved in metal in the border. The dedication plaque reads: Presented to: Annika Sorenstam by the LPGA. Offered with deep appreciation for your contribution to and passion for women’s professional golf. The LPGA celebrates your legacy. We look forward to your ongoing impact on the growth of the game. 2008
