Top golf industry firm to handle public relations and marketing efforts
Bloomfield Hills, MI (February 4, 2009) – The Dunmaglas Golf Club, once rated among the best and most scenic courses in Michigan, has hired Resort & Golf Marketing of Bloomfield Hills to publicize the club’s comeback as a major stop on the northern Michigan circuit.
The company has more than 20 years experience marketing and promoting golf courses and resorts in the state as well as across the country. Included among their clients are more than 50 properties that gained widespread acclaim after involving the marketing firm from the concept stage to their grand openings. Resort & Golf also offers business development expertise, public relations, and magazine-ready resort and lifestyle photography.

Richards said golfers will be stunned by improvements in the layout, the impeccable condition of the course, and unfailing service new management has introduced to the facility.
“The course was just too tough for most golfers but ownership has been working hard to soften the play while enhancing the features of the land that made the course special,” Richards said.
“New tees have been added, greens have been softened, fairways and rough were widened, and more than 50 bunkers have been removed,” said Darin J. Philport, who took over as general manager last year. “Brush and trees have been cleared and we will continue to clear more. The course is in the best condition it has ever been in.”
Philport came to Dunmaglas from the Hidden River Golf & Casting Club in Brutus where he was a founding partner and was credited with developing the first-rate golf appeal the club enjoys.
When Dunmaglas opened in 1992, it was acclaimed for its natural beauty and its penal play. The 6,897-yard course plays through 886 acres of severe hills and rolling meadows with views of Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix in the distance. Dunmaglas was rated in the Top 50 upscale courses in America in 1998 by Golf Digest magazine.
“We have implemented a whole new level of guest services offering guests visits that will exceed their expectations,” Philport said. “A new clubhouse and further development of the property are also in the works,” he said.
