MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada – Sligo Wear, Inc., one of the fastest growing apparel brands in the golf industry, completed a successful PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 29-31 in Orlando’s Orange CountyConvention Center. It was Sligo Wear’s first appearance at the world’s largest golf trade show.
“We’re very happy with the results,” said Sligo Wear Director of Sales Shawn Aucoin. “We had a lot of traffic in our booth, signed on some great new accounts and met several potential new customers.
“The 2009 Sligo Wear line was very well received by all of our accounts, which gives us a lot of confidence going into ’09.”
Sligo Wear apparel is worn on the PGA Tour by Brian Gay and Ben Crane and on the Nationwide Tour by Steve LeBrun and Bubba Dickerson. In addition, Sligo Wear is being worn by well-known PGA teaching professional Jeff Ritter, Director of Instruction at the ASU Karsten Golf Academy in Tempe, Ariz.
Sligo Wear was founded by a group of frien ds and active golfers each of who were frustrated by a lack of fashionable a nd proper fitting affordable golf apparel in the market place. At Pro Am to the Azores in early 2004, they noticed a different fashion for golf apparel and upon their started Sligo Wear Inc.
Sligo Wear was an immediate success in the Canadian market and in 2007, the company signed a deal with Fairway Styles Inc. of Richmond, Va., to bring fashion change to the U.S. market.
