Fifth Kodak Challenge Hole is #18 at AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 10 – The Kodak Challenge, a first-of-its-kind competition for PGA TOUR players and fans, comes to Pebble Beach, California for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The famed 18th hole is known as one of the greatest closing holes in all of golf. An Advisory Board of leading golf experts and influentials selected Hole #18 at Pebble Beach Golf Links as the fifth hole in the Kodak Challenge.

The Kodak Challenge celebrates beautiful holes and memorable moments on the PGA TOUR and challenges players to perform their best on Kodak Challenge holes, with the winner taking home
$1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy. The 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links is outlined by the Pacific Ocean and boasts narrow fairways and a 100+ yard bunker running along the ocean from the green. In 1922, architect William Herbert Fowler added almost 200 yards to the hole, making it the signature hole it is today. The full schedule of Kodak Challenge holes is at kodakchallenge.com.

After last week’s Buick Invitational, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Beckman, Jarrod Lyle and Zach Johnson are tied for the lead in the Kodak Challenge at 3-under-par.

In 2009, 30 PGA TOUR tournaments feature a designated Kodak Challenge hole. Players must play at least 18 of the 30 Kodak Challenge holes throughout the season to compete for $1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy. A player’s lowest score relative to par on his best 18 Kodak Challenge holes will be counted. The player with the lowest cumulative score relative to par wins. In the case of a tie, a sudden death playoff will take place on the final Kodak Challenge hole immediately following the conclusion of the Children’s Miracle Network Classic.

The Kodak Challenge holes were selected by the Kodak Challenge Advisory Board in collaboration with Kodak and the PGA TOUR.
