Golf Academy of America Attend Military and Veteran Career Fair

February 11, 2009

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A long career in the golf industry can be achieved by those who love the game but do not actually play the tour. The Golf Academy of America (GAA) strives to emphasize this at community events such as the January 21, 2009 career fair for military servicemen and women who have recently rotated or are going to rotate out of the military.

“Events like the Los Angeles Miltary/Veteran Career Fair are exciting for GAA to participate because we can educate people about our program and the opportunities it creates for our students. GAA graduates have shown us boundless opportunities,” says Henry Salgado, GAA director of admissions. “At this particular event we were able to reach out to more than 200 service members who have already proven a strong work ethic and determination, two traits that play a major factor not only in the industry, but in life.”

Offering a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management, the Golf Academy of America provides graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire.

The Golf Academy of America leads the industry in golf education and features four campuses in major golf markets – Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. The GAA was founded in 1974 and is today accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
