Tiger Woods Took Time to Wish Friend Chris Riley Well
So you’re at home dealing with a fracture in your foot, and then all of a sudden someone tells you that Tiger Woods has just devoted a few sentences to you in a blog post that basically the entire golf world reads. That was the case for part-time Las Vegas resident and PGA Tour golfer Chris Riley recently, when Woods, a very good friend of Riley’s dating back to junior golf, wrote about how good it was to see his partner back on the PGA Tour. Riley was one of nine Las Vegas golfers playing in the Buick Invitational Feb 5-8, but unfortunately he missed the cut.

Las Vegas PGA Tour Pro Nick Watney Wins Buick!
With all due respect to CBS’ Jim Nantz, who proclaimed, “A California champion!”, when Nick Watney drained his tournament-winning birdie putt on Sunday, we Las Vegas golfers are also claiming our newest hometown golfer. Watney moved to Las Vegas in the last couple years to be closer to Las Vegas’ Butch Harmon, and now lives near Rio Secco Golf Club, where Harmon operates his golf school. And Watney credits a strong off season with Butch as a major reason for winning the Buick Invitational played at Torrey Pines.

Yes, That WAS Jack Nicklaus at Bear’s Best Las Vegas!
So, once upon a time, there was a foursome playing Bear’s Best Las Vegas, a Las Vegas golf course that oozes Jack Nicklaus at every turn and on every hole. This Las Vegas golf course was created when Nicklaus and his design team poured over thousands of holes from golf courses that he and they had designed, dwindling it to the 18 ‘best’. Then they re-created them in the Las Vegas desert. And for one group of Las Vegas golfers playing the course, a certain Golden Bear played through the foursome.
