Value-Laden Offer Provides Best Year-Round Rate, Access to Championship Caliber Golf
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning public course at the heart of one of Tallahassee’s most comprehensively designed communities – today announces the availability of the 2009 “Player’s Card,” providing local golfers with the best year-round rate available.
The Player’s Card is $99 and includes $35 weekday rate and $29 senior/student rate (Monday – Thursday), $45 rate after 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and a complimentary round of golf and SouthWood hat. The card expires on December 31, 2009.
“The Player’s Card is an outstanding value considering the caliber of golf course and level of conditioning at SouthWood,” says Beth Murphy, general manager. “It is also an excellent opportunity for avid golfers to come together at a local venue for camaraderie and competition.”
Designed by PGA Tour star Fred Couples and renowned architect Gene Bates and managed by Billy Casper Golf, SouthWood Golf Club is among the region’s most-acclaimed courses. Highlighted by stands of stunning, Spanish moss-draped oak trees, the 7,172-yard layout meanders over rolling hills, through wooded areas and open land. SouthWood is the rare course that tests the area’s best amateur and collegiate golfers yet provides an enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities. It features five sets of tees, including two sets rated for women by the FSGA and USGA. The 2,986-yard “Wee Tees” provide the ideal course set-up for juniors, beginners or players seeking to improve their short game.
SouthWood Golf Club has garnered numerous honors since opening in November 2002. It was ranked one of the “Top 50 Courses for Women” by Golf For Women and named among the Top-10 layouts of the new millennium by Travel + Leisure Golf. SouthWood was also named to Golf Digest’s list of “America’s Best New Courses,” selected by GOLF Magazine as one of the top 35 public courses – out of 325 nationwide – to open in 2002, and namedTallahassee’s best golf course by Tallahassee Magazine.
