Aggressive strategy pays off for Pukka
Findlay, Ohio (February 15, 2009) – Pukka Headwear, designer and manufacturer of premium golf headwear reports the 2009 PGA Merchandising Show as its best to date.
PGA Show attendees experienced first hand why many in the industry now view Pukka as the frontrunner in headwear design, development and service. The introduction of a renewed brand image including a new cutting edge tradeshow booth, a formal introduction of seven7under headwear and the unveiling of Pukka Headwear’s newest collection Pukka Remix, which features the latest design techniques, set the stage for their success this year in Orlando.
“Since carving out our place in the golf headwear industry six years ago, Pukka has become known for its innovative products, design ability and customer service. On the Show floor we are known for our “all out” attitude. It’s not a secret; we like to make an impact. People expect it. This year it all started with the new tradeshow booth,” explained Pukka Headwear President, Shawn Rogers. Everything we accomplished was the result of an aggressive, well-executed strategy going into the show. We were in front of the market early and often with the right message. Because of that, we were able to attract attention and we followed through on the show floor. While we continue to be the energetic, fun headwear brand, the industry also recognizes that we have the capability to be a full-line headwear supplier. Everything we did heading into Orlando set the stage for what I believe was our most successful PGA Merchandise Show to date,” adds Rogers.
“Everyone expected the fallout of the economy to carry over into the golf industry. While overall attendance was down slightly from 2008, you would have never guessed by the amount of traffic in the Pukka booth. We surpassed our goals in terms of business written and new accounts opened,” says John Bond, Vice President of Sales. “The Pukka Team was very optimistic heading into Orlando as ownership, sales and marketing set out to execute a Show strategy that was designed to take it to the next level. We accomplished our goals. A new booth, Demo Day Sponsorship and the introduction of two new product lines proved pivotal. Pukka performed well above our expectations,” adds Bond.
Pukka’s “Original 48/30 program” which includes free shipping and no set-up or digitizing fees and new product releases headlined by seven7under and the Pukka Remix Collection will build on the momentum created from this years PGA Show presence.
