Heavy Putter Used by Runner-Up and Top-10 Finisher
(RIDGEFIELD, CT) – Boccieri Golf announces that runner-up Felipe Aguilar and top-10 finisher Ignacio Garrido used the company’s popular Heavy Putter line at last week’s Johnnie Walker Classic on the PGA European Tour.
Playing with Matte Series models incorporating a special, non-reflective surface, both players benefited from increased consistency provided by the unique Heavy Putter system of added weight in the head and grip. Aguilar used the B3-M model and shot four straight rounds of 68 and recorded an impressive “putts per GIR” of 1.76. Garrido chose the B2-M en route to four sub-70 scores and a tie for 10th place.
In 2008, Boccieri Golf products contributed to a victory on the PGA European Tour at the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia Open – where this week Aguilar will defend his title – and three top-five finishes, while its putters have also been used in competition by major-tournament winners on the PGA, Asian PGA, Canadian and Nationwide Tours.
“Week after week players on major professional tours worldwide are benefitting from the unique technology of the Heavy Putter,” says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf. “These tremendous results are leading more and more top performers to switch to our putters – a trend we know will continue.”
The Heavy Putter’s global popularity stems from its unprecedented counter-balance theory of a heavier mass head and weighted grip. This causes the body to engage its larger, core muscles for greater stroke stability, consistent swing paths, uniform pace, precise distance and directional control, tightening end-over-end golf ball roll.
About the Heavy Putter
Introduced in early 2005, the Heavy Putter is now carried in all 50 states and in 30 overseas markets. It is found in many of the finest off-course shops and most prestigious golf courses, country clubs and resorts worldwide.
The recently released MID-WEIGHT Series features five classically designed putters each weighing 750 grams, lighter than previous Heavy Putter models but still heavier than traditional offerings. The line – three blades and two mallets – is crafted with the company’s proprietary technologies that create a consistent, pendulum-like stroke by engaging the body’s core and larger muscles.
The Heavy Putter Original, Matte and Deep Face Series models, which spawned a global following, each incorporates the company’s pioneering weighting technology, including a 550-gram head (conventional heads are 330 to 350 grams) and a 250-gram weight installed in the grip end, producing a balance point 75 percent higher than conventional putters.
